SOFIC, Tampa, FL. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, announced today the launch of the all-new MOHOC® 2 Camera.
While the original MOHOC® Camera is used primarily for recording video to an SD card, the MOHOC® 2 Camera is built to stream real-time video over mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) radios. Designed as a live sensor for the hyper-enabled operator, it maximizes situational awareness at the tactical edge.
Dan Fuhrman, VP Product Development, described the new technology, “We continually listen to feedback from operators, and their #1 request has been to improve the camera’s transmission. We thoroughly studied this input, innovated, and MOHOC® 2 now marks our evolution from an after-action review device to a real-time streaming tool for mission-critical information.”
MOHOC® 2 utilizes a radically improved sensor offering 20X better low-light performance than its predecessor. It is smaller, lighter, and simpler to operate than the original MOHOC®, but with the same low-profile, helmet-contour, and military-grade ruggedization. Additional features include a rotating lens, Curvelock™ Velcro® mount, and connectors canted to minimize snagging.
The camera is designed with extensive input from leading C5ISR companies for plug-and-play, resilient comms within integrated tactical networks. Built in multiple video formats tailored to the protocol of specific tactical radios, the first MOHOC® 2 model (released today) outputs SDI video compatible with the Persistent Systems MPU5 MANET radio. Additional models with IP, USB, and HDMI video formats are expected starting in Q3, and specialized ports and connectors are available for custom-build solutions. MOHOC products validated through NTOA Member Tested and Recommended program
SEATTLE, WA. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, announced today that after rigorous field testing the NTOA has officially recommended MOHOC® Cameras and LASO™ Tactical Video Transmitters, and listed them in the NTOA’s online database.
The NTOA conducts field trials on live operations with hundreds of products and only gives its stamp of approval to equipment deemed suitable for use by tactical professionals. MOHOC received high marks, with one tactical officer from Arizona reporting, “The MOHOC camera is a great way to get video from the operator’s perspective without being blocked by gear or body parts like other chest mounted cameras.”

Building on the momentum of last year’s first major NECC order and award of NATO/National Stock Numbers, MOHOC today announced completion of a second, even larger order from the US Navy. On this occasion the customer is Coastal Riverine Group 2 (CRG2), who received over 1,400 cameras plus accessories.

New product increases video streaming range of MOHOC® Cameras
SHOT Show, Las Vegas, NV. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, today launched LASOTM, a WiFi-based Tactical Video Transmitter to livestream video from MOHOC® Cameras to teammates and command.
Small, rugged and easy-to-use, LASO™ is a two-part booster system that extends the MOHOC® Camera’s existing WiFi streaming distance up to 10 times the stand-alone camera (line-of-sight up to 200m/650ft). The operational benefits for real-time situational awareness include EOD, room clearing, K9, riot control, surveillance, and training.

U.S. Defense Logistics Agency assigns MOHOC’s first two NSNs
Seattle, WA. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, has been awarded two NATO/National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for its MOHOC® Camera and MOHOC® IR Camera (infrared model) by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) following requests from multiple NATO Member States.

MOHOC, Inc. delivers new Personal Recording System to Coastal Riverine Group 1
SEATTLE, WA. MOHOC, Inc., creator of the world’s first military-optimized helmet cameras, has been chosen to supply the Personal Recording System for the US Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). After extensive competitive trial and evaluation through Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, NECC selected MOHOC® Cameras over other video solutions. The tactically-designed and ruggedized cameras will be used to record both training and key mission activities.
Following the award, MOHOC recently completed delivery of over 2,000 MOHOC® Cameras and accessories to the US Navy’s Coastal Riverine Group 1 (CRG1). CRG1 conduct maritime security operations, defending high value assets and critical maritime infrastructure on both inland and coastal waterways. They are one of numerous groups under NECC now eligible to procure MOHOC® Cameras.
